Verigastu is the app you open in the café: you photograph the receipt, say out loud why it is deductible and get on with your day. Months later, if the information request arrives, the dossier is already put together.
See it from the inside: 8 real screens of the app →
There is nothing to download. It opens in your phone's browser and, if you want, you add it to your home screen.
Before you read on: Verigastu does not issue invoices and is not Verifactu invoicing software. It is the ledger of your expenses – the invoices you receive. If what you are looking for is software to issue your invoices, this is not what you need: we explain the difference here.
The problem
To deduct an expense it is not enough to have it written down: you have to be able to show that it is related to your business, and the burden of proof is yours. A coffee with a client and a Sunday coffee produce exactly the same piece of paper.
An explanation that almost nobody writes down at the time and that nobody remembers six months later. When the information request arrives, the paper is still there; the context is gone.
Issuing and bookkeeping are covered, and it takes for granted that the expense arrives already justified. Verigastu starts exactly where that software stops: at the moment when the paper still has context.
How it works
Three gestures that fit in the minute it takes you to put the receipt in your pocket. The app puts together everything else.
The main button opens the camera. You can also attach a PDF or an invoice that came by email, and you can drop in up to 50 at once. On Android, with the app installed, you can also send it to Verigastu from another app with the Share button. If that supporting document was already in your ledger, the app tells you before anything else.
The question appears before the form, while the AI reads the receipt in the background: "Why is this expense deductible?". You speak and that's it: dictation is transcribed by the speech recognition of your own browser or phone, and only the text ever reaches Verigastu, never your voice. If you prefer, you type it.
The AI fills in the date, number, supplier, NIF, taxable bases and up to three VAT rates, and classifies the expense. It only writes in the empty fields: whatever you type yourself is untouchable. When in doubt, it doesn't make things up: it leaves the field blank and warns you. And nothing goes into the ledger without passing before your eyes: the form opens filled in, you check it over and tap "Add to the ledger".
What you get
What comes out of Verigastu is not a pretty list: it's the documents an accountant would ask you for, with the same names and the same columns.
An Excel file with three sheets: purchases and expenses for IRPF; received invoices for VAT, in the order they were recorded and with a stable reception number, as required by art. 69.3 of the VAT Regulation; and a Trazabilidad (Traceability) sheet with the hash of each supporting document, outside the two ledgers. The columns set by the regulations, one line per VAT rate and totals with real formulas. The deductible VAT amount is kept separate from the input VAT amount, as it should be. Whatever is depreciated goes out through its own door, with its capital assets ledger – valued without the VAT you deduct – and its year-by-year depreciation schedule. If you are a professional under direct assessment, the advances of funds a client gives you to pay their own expenses and the disbursements you pay in their name and on their behalf go in another ledger, the advances of funds and disbursements ledger, which art. 68.5 of the IRPF Regulation requires: Verigastu keeps it separate from the expenses ledger and produces it in its own Excel file. And if you declare more than one business activity, there is no single ledger but one per activity, as art. 9.4 of Order HAC/773/2019 requires.
You choose the period and out comes a ZIP with the explanatory report in Word (legal framework and the argument for each expense), the period's ledger in Excel with its Trazabilidad sheet, a COMO-COMPROBAR.txt with the command to verify the hash of each supporting document – and what that check does not prove – the capture record if you tick its box, and the folder with your original supporting documents numbered by entry. Entry 34 has the same name in every piece. If you have capital assets, their ledger goes in too, and the explanatory report covers the ones from earlier years that you are still depreciating. If your profile says you are a professional under direct assessment, or if you have recorded advances of funds or disbursements in the period, the advances of funds and disbursements ledger goes in too, with the supporting documents for the disbursements. And the ZIP can also include, in a file separate from the Excel, the IRPF purchases and expenses ledger in the standardised format published by the AEAT. It only comes out if your profile says you are self-employed under direct assessment and has your name, your NIF and your activity details; if you don't use the cash basis; and if every expense has the details that ledger requires and passes its checks. With your NIF entered, if something is missing, the app tells you what, and the explanatory report explains why it isn't included. Without a NIF in your profile, that ledger isn't prepared.
No message tells you "this isn't deductible" without telling you why: an article or a binding ruling of the Directorate General for Taxation (DGT), checked against the legal text before being added. If it can't be verified, it is left empty rather than filled in by guesswork.
Figures from Verigastu · inventory updated on 21/09/2026, drawn from the project's code and indexes, not from memory.
Real examples of what the app tells you while you fill in the expense. They are warnings, not blocks: the last word is always yours.
For IRPF it may be deductible if the business requires it, but with a combined cap of 1 % of your annual turnover. The VAT on client entertainment is never deductible.
With its binding DGT ruling cited in the warning itself
The electricity for charging is not one of your office utilities: it is the car's fuel, so it follows the vehicle's rules. For a mixed-use car, that changes the sums a great deal.
With its legal basis cited in the warning itself
Privacy
It's not a promise in the privacy policy: it's how the app is built. There is no sign-up, no password, no database of ours with your expenses inside.
With no database of ours holding your expenses and no server storing your supporting documents, there is no file of your receipts that anyone could steal from us.
The trade-off, said out loud: if you don't turn on the backup, your ledger lives on a single phone and we cannot recover it, because we never had it. The app reminds you of this.
Verifactu
It's the question of the year, and the short answer is that Verifactu is about the invoices you issue, not the ones you receive. Verigastu deals with the ones you receive.
It is the Tax Agency's verifiable invoicing system: it requires the software you issue your invoices with to meet certain integrity and traceability requirements, and the maker of that software to sign a declaration of conformity.
The obligation comes into force on 1 January 2027 for companies and on 1 July 2027 for all other taxpayers, the self-employed included. Those are the dates in force according to Spain's Official State Gazette, the BOE (Royal Decree-Law 15/2025). On 5 October 2026, the Ministry of Finance (Ministerio de Hacienda) announced that it plans to postpone the obligation until October 2028, to coincide with mandatory electronic invoicing; until that is published in the BOE, the 2027 dates apply. It's worth confirming them with your adviser, because this timetable has moved before.
This is general information to point you in the right direction, not tax advice. Your specific case is for your adviser to confirm.
How to start
No app store, no installer, no system requirements. You open an address in your phone's browser and that's it.
You leave your name and email in the form and usually within a few minutes you get an email with a link that already has your code in it, and the instructions.
In your phone's browser. On Android you go straight in: there's no code to type and nothing to set up. On iPhone, install it before you start (Share button → "Add to Home Screen") and always open it from the icon: that app keeps its data separately from Safari and doesn't see the code in the link, so you type in the one that also comes on its own in the email. The same code works if you open the app on another device: it goes in ⚙ → Access code.
How you are taxed and which VAT scheme you are on; with that you can already take the first photo. On Android, to have it as a real app: menu ⚙ → 📲 Install the app, and the browser itself installs it with one tap (on iPhone you already installed it in step 2). Its own icon, full screen, and from then on it opens even with no signal: in a basement you can take the photo and record the expense by hand. What needs a connection is the AI read (and the backup to Drive, which waits for it to come back); if there isn't one, the app tells you and lets you fill things in.
Price
One read is one supporting document read by the AI. You buy a bundle, it is loaded onto your code and the reads are only used up as you use them: they never expire. Prices are shown without VAT, which is your real cost if you deduct it; VAT (21 % in Spain) is added at checkout.

You pay on a secure page, where we ask for your name, tax ID (NIF) and address for the invoice, which is issued by Fiscalidad y procesos automatizados, SL with VAT itemised. If you deduct input VAT, your cost is the price before VAT. How to buy, step by step.
Questions
No. Verigastu is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Tax Agency or the Ministry of Finance.
The name resembles Verifactu, which is indeed a Tax Agency system, and that's why we say so on every page: they are different things and we are not them.
What we have done is a test anyone can repeat. The Agencia Tributaria has a public service for checking the IRPF purchases and expenses ledger in the standardised format it publishes. On 12/10/2026 we ran a test ledger through it, generated with Verigastu's code and with made-up data, and it answered «Fichero validado» (file validated), «Fichero válido para RENTA» (valid for income tax) and «Fichero válido para Persona Física» (valid for an individual). That means that file had no format or code errors. It does not say whether your expenses are deductible or whether your amounts match your invoices, and it does not guarantee that your ledger will pass: that depends on your data. It is the IRPF ledger, not the VAT one. It is not an approval.
No, and we'd rather tell you before you waste your time. Verigastu keeps the ledger of your expenses: the invoices and receipts you receive. It does not issue invoices, it is not a computerised invoicing system and it is not subject to Verifactu.
To issue your invoices you need invoicing software that complies with the regulation. Verigastu sits alongside it without any problem: one handles what you issue, the other what you spend. We explain it in more detail here.
Nowhere, and that's good news. There's no installer and no app store: you open the link from the email in your phone's browser – it already has your code in it – and you're in. If you want it to hand, you add it to your home screen and it behaves like any other app, with its icon and full screen. On iPhone, do this before you start and type the code from the email there.
On your phone. The expenses, the photos of the receipts and your profile are stored on the device itself. Your code acts as your account, but there is no database of ours holding your expenses, your photos or your profile.
If you turn on the backup, that backup goes to your Google Drive, with the narrowest permission Google offers: the app can only see the files it creates itself, not the rest of your Drive. The server only sees the supporting document in passing, for the time it takes the AI to read it, and does not store it.
You take everything with you, because we never had it. The ledger and the supporting documents are on your phone and, if you turned on the backup, in a VERIGASTU folder in your Drive, with the originals one by one. The Excel file and the dossier are built inside the phone, without asking any server for anything: you can export them today, in a year's time or the day you decide to stop using it, and they open with any spreadsheet or word processor.
Disconnecting Drive deletes nothing: the files remain yours and stay where they are. Without us, the AI read would stop working; what you have already exported and backed up depends on nobody.
You choose the period they are asking about and with one tap out comes the complete dossier: what's inside it, piece by piece, is in What you get. Each record in the ledger incorporates the hash of the previous one, so altering an entry or slipping a new one in afterwards shows. What it doesn't do is date anything: the times come from your phone's clock and the dossier states that as it is.
It's what an accountant would ask you for, already put together. What you do with it – submit it yourself, hand it to your adviser – remains your decision.
No. Verigastu is a support tool based on published DGT criteria; it does not replace the advice of a tax adviser. It organises your ledger, warns you with a legal basis and puts together your dossier. Decisions about your taxation remain yours and your adviser's.
In fact, the dossier is designed for your adviser to appreciate: it's exactly what they usually ask you for.
Yes. Without a code the whole app works: you capture the supporting document and fill in the fields by hand. What the code switches on is the automatic AI read, which is the part that costs money. You can start without one and enter it later from the menu.
While the purchase links are being switched on, the button on each bundle takes you to the trial-code form, which is free.
You choose a bundle under Price and pay on a secure page run by our payment provider. There we ask for your name, tax ID (NIF) and address, because they are needed for the invoice, and VAT (21 % in Spain) is added at checkout. Your card details are handled only by the payment provider: the number never reaches us.
Within one working day you get an email with your new code, or the top-up of the one you already have, and the invoice with VAT, issued by Fiscalidad y procesos automatizados, SL. Reads never expire. And if one day you run out, the app keeps working by hand with your ledger intact: nobody loses access to their data.
Any reasonably modern one with an up-to-date browser, Android or iPhone. Three honest caveats: voice dictation is weaker on iPhone than on Android – if it fails you, you type the justification; on iPhone, install it before you record anything, because the app on the home screen keeps its data separately from Safari; and browser storage has limits, which is precisely why the backup to your Drive exists.
In testing with its first users. It works, there are things on the to-do list and you talk to the person who builds it. Reads are bought in bundles, under Price, and the trial code is still free, with free reads included. If you want to try it knowing that, request your code.
